DeMarini Youth Bats: Voodoo vs Vexxum

DeMarini Youth Bats: Voodoo vs Vexxum

Today we’re looking at the 2014 Demarini Voodoo Overlord youth baseball bat -13oz WTDXVDL-V14, and the 2014 Demarini Vexxum youth baseball bat -12oz WTVXDXL-14.

These Demarini youth bats are both two piece bats. They both have composite handles, and alloy barrels. However, there are some important differences between the two.

While the Demarini Vexxum youth bat  and the Demarini Voodoo Overlord youth bat both have the same alloy barrel, the Vexxum is a minus 12 ounces to length ratio, and a more evenly weighted youth baseball bat, that is made for a contact hitter.

With that in mind Demarini put in it’s “N2M End Cap.” It was the lightest end cap Demarini could make in its pursuit of the ultimate balanced youth bat.

It also has the C6 composite handle.  A wide layout of the carbon fiber design that was specifically created for this Demarini X10 alloy to generate the most responsive bat possible.

The 2014 Demarini Voodoo Overlord youth baseball bat is a minus 13 ounces to length ratio and was designed with the power hitter in mind. Because of that they put in a endload on the bat to help drive the ball even farther. This endload is assisted further still with Demarini’s ION-V End Cap that takes any lost energy in contact with the ball and puts it right back into the barrel. This effect of energy loss transfer is also incorporated into its Demarini D-Fusion Handle. This carbon Reinforced Paradox Composite Handle is the other major difference between the 2014 Demarini Voodoo Overlord vs the 2014 Demarini Vexxum.

The Demarini Voodoo Overlord’s D-Fusion Handle is stiffer and maximizes the force created from the swing back to the ball.  DeMarini used a ThermoFused taper in the handle that enhanced the X10’s alloys already explosive performance, while also reducing vibration to the hands and improving feel. This improved feel is also complemented by the ergonomic RCK Knob, making blisters from the knob of the bat less common.

Both Youth Demarini baseball bats perform equally well on the field and are worthy of your consideration.  The Vexxum Youth baseball bat is an industry standard price of $149.95 and The Voodoo Overlord Youth baseball bat is $199.95.

They both have a factory year warranty, and like all youth bats, are recommended for play in temperatures above 50-55 degrees fahrenheit.
