Easton L4.0 Raw Power Slow Pitch Softball Bat

The new Easton L4.0 Raw Power slow pitch softball bats are the latest bats to come out of the Easton Hit Lab in Van Nuys, California. The Raw Power slow pitch series comes in balanced and end load, Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) and USSSA 1.20.

One of the most anticipated new bats is the end-loaded, single piece, Brett Helmer signature Easton L4.0 Raw Power Slow Pitch Softball bat. This new bat is a one piece, 100% composite bat with a 12-inch barrel and an 1 ounce end load, approved for ISF and the new, hotter, ASA Softball Bat standard.

Easton uses their exclusive, top of the line SIC Black Carbon composite fiber material in the handle of the L4.0 Raw Power Softball Bat.  This material gives it a smooth, nearly vibration-free feel on contact. Easton’s IMX composite is used in the barrel.

The difference between the Easton L4.0 and the L6.0 is the Easton L4.0 Raw PowerSlow Pitch Softball Bat uses the newer SIC Black Carbon in the handle for a “better feel.”  The L6.0 uses the older IMX composite.

When I first picked up the Easton L4.0, the first thing I noticed was the new grip tape being used on all of the Easton Raw Power softball bats. The gauze grip tape is thin, similar to athletic tape and offers no cushion at all.  You won’t need to regrip this bat with athletic tape.

  • Feel: All Easton slow pitch softball bats have a smooth feel, and the Easton L4.0 Brett Helmer signature model is no exception. There is no excessive vibration in the bat, even when I missed the sweet spot and hit the ball down closer to the taper. The Easton L4.0 is smooth and forgiving thanks to the Black Carbon in the handle. The weight distribution is nice for an end-load, and does not feel too end heavy.
  • Stiffness: The Easton L4.0 Raw PowerSlow Pitch Softball Bat is as stiff as they come
  • Sweet Spot and Pop: The 12-inch barrel is more forgiving than other softball bats, and the pop is as great.  The  Easton L4.0 Raw PowerSlow Pitch Softball Bat is on par with legendary Easton softball bats of the past

For the feel of an end-loaded softball bat, and the stiffness of a one piece bat, the Brett Helmer signature Easton L4.0 Raw Power Bat is an excellent choice.

Cheapbats offers the outstanding Easton L4.0 Raw Power Slow Pitch Softball Bat at a great price.
